Department of

PHILOSOPHY

Welcome to Department of Philosophy

In the Department of Philosophy, we introduce our students into a tradition of rigorous inquiry and critical reflection and embrace them as future thinkers and challengers of convention, embarking on a journey of curiosity. Expectedly, this journey will stretch their mind, test their patience, and reward their courage. They will wrestle with the esoteric and hair-splitting thoughts of great thinkers and seekers, many of whom are long dead, and others still living. They will question justice, truth, and even their own beliefs. They will also learn that philosophy is not the pursuit of final answers but the refinement of better questions.

Students of this Department have consistently progressed from initial uncertainty to scholarly articulation, professional competence and entrepreneurial distinction. Such growth is achieved through active participation, as philosophy requires full intellectual engagement rather than passive observation. The Department encourages boldness in thought, humility in learning and persistence in curiosity. Its mission is to foster minds capable of deep reflection, wise expression and imaginative vision, thereby contributing meaningfully to society and the global intellectual community.

Welcome to the tradition. Welcome to the challenge. Welcome to Philosophy.
