Ujubonu Juliet Okide, Ph.D., is a creative writer and a Senior Lecturer of Igbo Literature and Gender Studies in the Department of Linguistics, African and Asian Studies (LAAS), Faculty of Arts in the University of Lagos, Akoka, Nigeria. Among other courses, she has been teaching introduction to prose fiction. She is a test writer and moderator under the Joint University Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) in the University of Lagos from 2015 till date. Her research interests include a study of Inter-female hostile relations: a Psychoanalytic study of selected Igbo novels. Her interests also include other aspects of Gender Studies in poetry, drama, folklore and culture: the interconnection between literary theories and imaginative works.

She is a member of several professional and academic bodies/associations such as: Member, Igbo Studies Association (ISA International); Member, Literary Society of Nigeria; Member, International Association for Innovation in Educational Assessment; Member, Nigerian Oral Literature Association (NOLA) and Member, Linguistics Association of Nigeria. Ujubonu Okide, through her works and publications, focuses on fostering a friendlier and more harmonious relationship amongst the female gender.
