Dr. OLANLEGE, Joshua Olayinka

Personal Statement

Joshua Olayinka OLANLEGE is a Lecturer II at Faculty of Arts, Department of Religious Studies, University of Lagos, Nigeria. He has over 10 years of teaching, Lecturing and research experience. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in Religious Studies {Christian Option) and (Christian Religious Studies) {New Testament} from the University of Ibadan and Lagos State University, Ojo and a Ph.D. in Christian Religious Studies (New Testament) from Lagos State University, Ojo, Nigeria. He has contributed significantly to the development of academic environments which include; teaching and lecturing at Secondary schools, Seminary, Bible Colleges, A level programme (e.g. Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board) and Universities.

His research interests include; typological approach to the Bible, literature, theology, history of the New Testament with specific focus on the welfare of the employees as enshrined in Biblical labour laws in Old Testament and complement in the New Testament. His works also touched the lifestyle of leaders and contemporary issues in the society. He has over 10 publications to his credit. He had single handedly handled the research on the history of his Church and published it which was one of its kind in the history of the Church over 80 years. He plays many important roles in the ecumenical bodies like; Christian Association of Nigeria, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and Bible Society of Nigeria. He is a member of professional bodies e.g. International Institute of Christian Theologian and Scholars, African Society for the Study of Sociology and Ethics of Religion (ASSOSER) etc.
